Iraq

At this time, the majority of political discussions turn to Iraq. The facts as I see them are that Saddam Hussein needed to be removed but there were no weapons of mass destructions and no links to Osama Bin Laden, the other pretexts given for going to war. However we failed as American Citizens to prevent our government from going to war and now it is too late to just leave Iraq without causing more of a humanitarian disaster than has already befallen those that lived in Iraq. I believe that we do need to redefine our mission in Iraq and reduce our presence there over time but we will need to be there for a couple years.

Further to the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the war, if the government partially went to war for the goal of securing Iraq oil and tried covering this fact by using other reasons for war that they knew to be false then shouldn’t they be accountable? What does it take to get brought before the International Criminal Court?
