Bridge – The Card Game (not the one I bought in Brooklyn)

By muddledblog

I have been playing bridge regularly for around 12 years. At first it was just friendly games with only one good player among us. Then, a couple of years ago, I started going to the local bridge club where I found out the difference between friendly bridge and a grand life master. Peter has been known to call bridge ‘difficult, yet boring!’ and I cannot really dispute that claim. However there is a draw to bridge in the complexity of bidding and card play that I find fascinating enough to head back to the bridge club time and again.

I have talked to my girlfriend about bridge and she has started to learn the game with exceptional skill. But the question has arisen about bidding conventions. We want to learn together a simple convention. ACBL has a couple of tutorials and it seems that we will start there. I think after that some friendly games might be good.
