Well, to be honest – my partner won and I was just along for the ride. Last night was the regular night game at the local bridge club with a whopping 3 full tables (it is not the most well attended event). I am by far the worst regular player at the Tuesday night game and I am often bounced around from partner to partner so as not to wreak my inevitable poor performance on the same person week after week. Last night I was teamed up with a member of the USA Blue youth team from the World Youth Teams Championships and winners of the Mini-Spingold in Nashville last year (that is to say, he is really good). I, in a fairly remarkable way, didn’t screw up as much as I normally would and we ended up getting 107 total IMPs versus the second place pair at 35 total IMPs.
